Meadeville Farm Pumpkin Patch prided itself on having the best quality unusual pumpkins. We went way beyond orange. Our attractions included, a Haunted Hay Ride, Spooky Sheet Maze, Pumpkin Painting, Petting Zoo and Concession Stand. We designed our attractions to be \'fun\' scary for young children.Over the course of 13 years, I grew from a 1 acre pumpkin patch alongside the road to a 20 acre farm stand. I was personally responsible for: variety selection; planting schedule; soil testing; chemical applications; field work; equipment maintenance; all required reporting; SOPs; OSHA/DEC/EPA compliance; interfacing with vendors, customers & large accounts; coordinate marketing; plan & manage all related attractions; obtain all necessary permits & inspections; employee hiring & scheduling; and design, update website & Facebook page.Currently, I am transitioning to a new project. The goal is to grow local chocolate. However, between hurricanes in the regions where cacao trees are normally found and COVID, the project is stalled waiting for new plant material.Now a rebirth for the farm. We had adding indulgent \"glamping\" sites to the farm. We will have a limited few sites to create an intimate setting so guests can experience \"Waldeinsamkeit\"- the solitude of the forest.
