Ann E. Doran, MHSM, MPA, CPHQ, CPHRM is the Executive Director, Office of Patient Advocacy, Veterans Health Administration. I am responsible for overseeing and driving critical strategies toward VHA’s cultural transformation, improving the Veterans’ experience and delivering an exceptional advocacy program. I am a key member of the VHA senior management team and am responsible for standing up a VHA wide Patient Advocacy program that improves outcomes for Veterans. I serve as the primary source of leadership and guidance on all policy matters and issues related to Patient Advocacy policies and programs across 154 VA Medical Centers with more than 800 Patient Advocates. I am an expert in areas of relationship and network management within a healthcare system, healthcare industry standards and regulations, emerging trends around technology, advocacy, and patient-reported outcomes.
