About Ankurita Nath
Driven by a strong commitment to environmental sustainability, I am passionate about waste management practices that foster a circular and regenerative economy. I hold a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering from IIT Kharagpur, where my research focused on wastewater treatment through advanced oxidation processes. During my doctoral studies, I published research on innovative approaches to wastewater treatment using biowaste materials, focusing on creating value from waste. My projects involved utilizing eggshell waste as a catalyst for dye degradation in a Fenton-type process, contributing not only to wastewater treatment but also to solid waste reduction. Alongwith that I also worked on studies related to surfactant, chitosan and chromium adsorption. Currently, I am a Manager at Saahas Zero Waste, where I lead wet waste management projects, write proposals, and explore business development opportunities to enhance our waste management practices. My experience in environmental engineering has strengthened my belief in the power of sustainable practices to create lasting, positive change for the environment.I am looking for opportunities to expand my expertise in research-oriented roles that support environmental preservation through sustainable methods. I also have an introductory understanding of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG), Business Responsibility and Sustainability Reporting (BRSR), Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, and I am motivated to deepen my knowledge in these areas to support impactful environmental initiatives.Beyond my work, I find inspiration in painting and traveling, both of which deepen my connection to nature and motivate me to advocate for its preservation.
