About Ankita Patel

I am dedicated to elevating the social, political and economic status of BIPOC communities by engaging in public policy and advocacy, supporting grassroots organizing, and redistributing power and money to build a more just, equitable and reflective democracy. With over 15 years of experience in the philanthropic and nonprofit sectors, I have leveraged over $100 million in private and public funding to launch community organizing programs, to build community-led civic infrastructures, and to bring community services in a manner that is accessible. Within organizations, I inspire leadership at every level to create and champion emergent strategies. Within sectors, I influence collaborative strategies that create or scale impact. Within eco-systems, I support cross-sector dialogue and strategies for long-term systemic impacts. At the foundation of my professional and educational experiences, I am deeply rooted in my identity and positioning in the United States as an Indian-Zambian immigrant woman in the conversation for our collective liberation with a deep sense of honor, joy, humor and belonging. We find the sticking points where progress has stalled and bring together leading philanthropies, corporations, and advocates to build consensus, develop plans of action, and drive momentum under a shared vision.
