Assists physicians with exams and procedures • The following as requested by provider: • Perform venipunctures and necessary laboratory work • Administers subcutaneous and intramuscular injections • Applying oximeter and recording reading • Preparing patients for examination or procedures including positioning, draping, shaving, and disinfecting treatment sites • Cleans, wraps, and autoclaves surgical instruments • Performing skin tests • Returns all patient telephone calls in a timely manner • Escorts patients to and from exam rooms, physician offices, and treatment rooms as appropriate • Records patient data prior to each physician’s visit• Obtains all necessary patient records as required by physician and verifies presence of consent prior to treatment or procedures • Prepares and stocks exam/treatment rooms and orders supplies as needed while maintaining room disinfection protocols and making sure medical supplies are not outdated
