An innovative extended-release (ER) tablet and granules formulation of metformin HCl was successfully developed in partnership with ACG Pharma Technology, Shirwal, Satara. The novel polymer, Carboxymethyl Ethyl Cellulose, is combined with a pore-forming agent, serving as a release retardant, to prolong the drug delivery. ACG\'s cutting-edge technologies, including high shear mixers, top spray granulation, and coating systems, played a crucial role in creating this formulation. The collaborative effort was showcased at the DRPI conference organized by the Society for Pharmaceutical Dissolution Science, highlighting the significance of collaboration in advancing pharmaceutical science.
