Archnetix CompanyAs a BIM Modeler specializing in Scan to BIM at Archnetix Company, I am responsible for transforming laser-scanned point cloud data into accurate, intelligent 3D Building Information Models using industry-standard BIM software such as Autodesk Revit. My role focuses on converting reality capture data into detailed architectural, structural, and MEP models that support renovation, retrofit, and facility management projects.The process begins with analyzing raw point cloud data obtained from 3D laser scanning or LiDAR surveys. I import and align point cloud files into Revit, ensuring correct coordinates using project base points and survey points for precise model positioning. Based on project requirements and Level of Development (LOD) standards, I model architectural elements such as walls, floors, ceilings, doors, windows, roofs, and façade components with high accuracy.In addition to architectural modeling, I assist in creating structural components including columns, beams, slabs, and foundations directly referencing the scanned data. For renovation or as-built documentation projects, I ensure that all dimensions and geometries match site conditions accurately. I follow BIM standards, naming conventions, and company-specific modeling guidelines to maintain consistency and quality.Quality control is a critical part of my responsibility. I verify the model against point cloud data, check tolerances, and coordinate with project managers and team members to resolve discrepancies. Clash detection and coordination are performed when required to ensure constructability and minimize site conflicts.At Archnetix, I collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and BIM coordinators to deliver models that are suitable for construction documentation, visualization, quantity take-offs, and facility management applications. I also create detailed sheets, sections, elevations, and schedules from the BIM model as per project scope.
