About Ankit Kumar
Assigned Techno-managerial role in Tata Power DDL. Currently working in Power Management Group. My responsibility includes Power purchase in Day ahead Market, GDAM, IDT, OA. I am also involved in Policy and Regulations study. I support legal team in filing petition to DERC, CERC, APTEL, High court and Supreme Court. My responsibility also includes verification of Bills generated by Generators, SLDC, NLDC Etc. I have good understanding of long term, Medium term and Short term Power Purchase Agreement with various thermal and RE generators. I coordinate in Open access related approval and billing. Before joining Power Management Group, I have worked for 3 years in Automation Department. I have worked on various IEDs and RTUs from GE, Synergy, ABB, and Siemens working on protocols like IEC 61850, 104 and Modbus. I was involved in OT cyber security implementation, Grid modernisation, ADMS support, IoT based asset optimization/condition monitoring and AI/ ML based application in utility sector. Being six sigma Black belt I am working as Quality champion and IMS champion of department and driving some six sigma projects, QC tools application and TQM practices for process enhancement. I prepare monthly MIS report, HoG, HoD, COO and other senior management review PPT. I have also worked in Strategy and Business collaboration department of Tata Power DDL for 1 year. My responsibility was to find New technology across the globe that is suitable for distribution utility and develop business collaboration with them and support in NDA and MoU signing. I also hold additional responsibility of 6S champion and Business excellence maturity Index ie. BEMI champion there. I strongly believe in continual process improvement and adopting best practices in all aspect. I love teaching, guiding, counselling and motivating young minds. I am keen learner, an avid reader and problem solver through innovative approach.
