ABOUT ANKIT BORGOHAIN
As a skilled and motivated Structural Engineer in Training, I hold an MSc. degree in Structural Engineering with 2+ years of research experience, particularly in the One-way shear design of structural members, particularly in Deep Beams. My strong technical and analytical skills were gained through collaborating with my academic supervisor, Prof. Ehab El Salakawy, Ph.D, PEng, FACI, FCSCE, FIIFC, as a Research Assistant at the University of Manitoba, where I constructed and tested fourteen full-scale corbel specimens, installed instrumentation, and developed an analytical model that improved the prediction capacity of current standards. Additionally, my strong communication skills have been honed through working as a Teaching Assistant, while my ability to work collaboratively as a team player has been refined through my work in a Structures research group under Prof. El Salakawy\'s guidance. I am also well-versed in technical writing, having written for two peer-reviewed structural engineering journals (under review) and two international conferences. Moreover, I have academic experience designing multi-span post-tensioned girders using the equivalent load technique and the software package PTData developed by Seneca Structural, which I learned while auditing a Prestressed Concrete course. I can travel to client sites using a Class 5F driver’s license and am willing to relocate anywhere. Overall, my experience in structural engineering research and teaching has given me a solid foundation in the field, allowing me to tackle complex challenges and make a meaningful contribution to the industry.
