ABOUT ANJU KAKKAR

As Managing Editor of Humber Press at Humber’s Office of Research & Innovation, my primary driving force is a passionate desire to understand the needs of my team, and my organization and curate the best possible solutions. I am a highly dedicated, forward-thinking and passionate writer and editor driving engagement through effective knowledge mobilization. I consider myself a writer with an expressionist mindset. The values of purpose, inclusivity and collaboration drive me. With reinvention at the core of me, my career path has led me to work in several roles juggling multiple projects, spanning the banking sector, reporting to a diplomatic office and finally, to a creative playground, performing as the copy editor for a fashion and lifestyle magazine, editorial consultant to publishers and coaching young contributors. Promoting an equitable, diverse, inclusive, and growth mindset has been a top priority throughout my leadership career. My years of experience in interacting with key players of different organizations accords me the opportunity to have a holistic view of the situation at hand. I am a certified innovation expert with access to the leading ISO-compliant innovation management methodology by Innovation360 Group, Sweden, and an emerging researcher in the field of social innovation. With a career that spans 25+ years, cultivating skills and inculcating creative thinking and having excellent organizational and people skills gained through all-around administrative, communication and writing experience, built over interaction with multi-cultural and multi-ethnic peers, I consider myself a creativepreneur, a seeker with a deep interest in stoicism and a student of the philosophy of life. I am working towards completing a short book of poetry and work of autobiographical fiction. I am honoured to volunteer my time towards community engagement with an over-inspiring team of thinkers at The Chartered Institute of Marketing Management of Ontario, who dedicate their expertise towards emphasizing ethics and integrity, yielding towards responsible marketing. What drives my inherent passion for writing, knowledge dissemination, innovation and research is a desire to celebrate the human aspect of searching for meaning and purpose. I believe that an empathetic, ethical and equitable approach to growth can create a culture of “we grow together” and with that as the epicentre of an organization’s DNA we can build a better world.
