ABOUT ANJAN DHAR

I am a clinical researcher and consultant in luminal gastroenterology and therapeutic endoscopy with over30 years experience and currently have a tenured Chair in Medicine with academic affiliation to Teesside University, UK. I was chair of Education and Council member at the British Society of Gastroenterology. I am involved in clinical and endoscopic research in inflammatory bowel disease, Barrett\'s oesophagus, Eosinophilic Oesophagitis and other oesophageal diseases and Advanced therapeutic endoscopy (EMR, POEM, ESG, RFA, Stenting). I have been a Chief Investigator for a NIHR RfPB Grant and have been a collaborator and Principal Investigator to 12 NIHR and 6 multi centre commercial clinical studies in 2015-24. I am now involved with multi-centric European studies in IBD and Oesophageal Diseases. I was Clinical Lead for Gastroenterology at County Durham from 2016-19. I am a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh and the American Gastroenterology Association. I have been the recipient of the British Society Advanced Endoscopy Fellowship. I currently sit on the British Society of Gastroenterology Oesophageal Section and IBD Section and Clinical Research Groups. I have over 150 papers published in high impact journals. I am a reviewer to NEJM, BMJ Frontline Gastroenterology, BMJ Open Gastroenterology, Journal of Clinical Gastroenterology, UEG Journal & Indian Journal of Gastroenterology. I am a mentor for the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh and the British Society of Gastroenterology. I am the current Deputy Lead for Guidelines at the BSG and a member of the Oesophageal and Endoscopy Sections. I advise multiple industry partners on IBD, EoE, Metabolic Endoscopy.
