   Leading the legal function for the Atlan Group founded in Singapore and headquartered in the US with business and employees spread across 20+ countries. • In leading the function, I’m responsible for: o Managing the overall legal operations of the Group; o Developing our commercial contracting strategy, including without limitation, standard templates, playbooks, clause libraries and deal desk principles supported by CLM system that can scale into a mature contract management program; o Setting up compliance programs in relation to Privacy, statutory compliance and business audits, such but not limited to, SOC 2, HIPAA, GDPR and more recently ISO o Compliance policy management, including without limitation, ESG reporting, business principles policy (which includes anti-bribery, antimoney laundering and anti-fraud policies), CSR policy, EEO and privacy policies related to the product, employees as well as recruitment candidates; o Guiding the people function in setting up a sustainable people compliance program for the varied jurisdictions we have employees in, such as but not limited to, US, Germany, Belgium, India, UK and Singapore. This includes setting up statutorily compliant employment contracts, employee handbooks and policies, such as EEO, non-performance, disciplinary action, leave, maternity benefit, POSH, antidiscrimination and other policies; o Setting up the foundations of an agile legal function that can grow with the organization’s changing needs and in that collaborating with different functions like product, people, finance, marketing, RevOps, etc. to set up process dependent systems to ensure traceable processes; o Managing any litigations or claims from third parties, including existing employees, to ensure we obtain the best outcome possible for the Group. • In setting up the function, I set up the team to scale internally to progressively reduce dependency on external legal consultants.
