As an applied researcher in natural language processing (NLP) and computational linguistics, I aim to craft systems that leverage the principles of language, cognition, and design to enhance the reliability and user experience of products. With a Master of Science degree in Symbolic Systems and a Bachelor of Technology degree in Computer Science and Engineering, my expertise combines strong technical foundations with scientific inquiry in the humanities, the social sciences, and information.I am currently an AI software engineer at an early-stage healthcare startup, having either driven or collaborated on several projects and features incorporating large language models and agentic workflows into the skilled nursing facility (SNF) space; this includes both internal tools and customer-facing products. Previously, I developed a transcript analysis and semantic search engine for a legal consultancy as part of an NLP research internship, utilizing traditional and deep learning techniques (pre-LLM-era). In the long term, my goals include applying computational approaches to language in the education sphere to improve learning outcomes, augmenting human-AI collaboration through experimental studies and design trials, learning more about AI governance, and building safe, trustworthy, observable systems across socially impactful or creative domains.My experiences with leadership, teaching, organization, and research make me a valuable team member and a dedicated independent worker. I am committed to advancing science, creative and collaborative thinking, and integrating ethics with technological development from the get-go. Be it creating new lecture materials, leading informal AI reading groups, writing scripts, or conducting interviews, I strive to maintain a mix of initiative, strategy, and risk management in my endeavors, and rely on creating good feedback loops for growth.
