Business is increasingly about innovation, whether disruptive or incremental, and growing your business is just as likely to mean entering an entirely different industry as it does scaling up. To be effective in this environment, advisory teams have to have both breadth and depth, and the lawyer working on your particular matter should have not only expertise in a relevant practice area, but also the knowledge to identify when a perspective might be missing. I maintain a broad practice in the areas of tax and corporate law. As part of a global law firm team, I have experience advising public and private corporations, small business owners, professionals, partnerships, tax-exempt entities and individuals, start-ups, and non-residents on a wide variety of matters across a range of sectors including mining and other natural resources, real estate, financial services, manufacturing, retail, hotel, technology, health care, and the life sciences. I also have experience with dispute resolution, particularly relating to regulatory offences, tax audits, and shareholder disputes, both in and out of court. I have appeared in the Provincial Court of British Columbia and the Supreme Court of British Columbia (in Chambers). I currently serve on the board of the Ronald McDonald House BC & Yukon, as well as the Recruitment Committee and the Diversity and Inclusion Council of Gowling WLG\'s Vancouver office.
