ABOUT ANITA LEDERER
Anita Lederer has over a decade of experience in the policy/nonprofit sector. She is currently the Assistant Director of Research, Evaluation, and Research Partnerships at UNICEF USA. In this role, she supports the management of the UNICEF USA research network, oversees internal and external data sources for developing and monitoring key performance indicators and data analysis, supports research priorities, and serves as an internal resource for the team in research, evaluations, and best practice surveys, particularly focusing on the municipal partnership team. Previously, Anita worked as a Researcher at the American Institutes for Research for 5 years, concentrating on education. Her efforts aimed at improving access to education for communities of color through school climate surveys, RCTs, focusing on higher education outcomes for first-generation students, and evaluating afterschool programs. She also evaluated youth violence prevention programs in Latin America and the Caribbean. Earlier in her career, Anita was a community organizer, mobilizing marginalized groups—mainly Latinos, women, and students—to be civically engaged and ensure their voices were heard by legislatures. These experiences fueled her passion for community-led initiatives globally, focusing on empowering marginalized communities and ensuring they have access to voting, healthcare, and education. Anita holds a Master’s of Public Administration in International Policy and Management from New York University’s Wagner School of Public Service. She is also PMP certified.
