ABOUT ANISHA SANDHU

I’m a fourth-year Business Administration student at Mount Royal University, majoring in Accounting with a Finance minor. Through the Accounting Co-op Program, I’ve gained hands-on experience across both industry and public practice, completing two internships with EY and a Finance Co-op at CNOOC International.At CNOOC, I collaborated with cross-functional teams in Taxation, Credit, Contracts, Risk Management, and Insurance, contributing to tax return preparation and gaining a deeper understanding of corporate finance operations. My internships at EY further strengthened my technical and analytical skills, enhanced my understanding of audit processes, and reinforced the value of collaboration in fast-paced, client-driven environments.Beyond the classroom, I serve as Vice President of the Bissett Accounting Students’ Society (BASS), where I help guide the executive team, oversee key initiatives, and support the professional and academic development of our members. I collaborate with peers and industry partners to create meaningful events, drive strategic projects, and ensure student voices are represented in shaping the society’s priorities. This role has strengthened my leadership, strategic planning, and team management skills while allowing me to make a tangible impact on the student community.I currently also serve as a Student Representative for the Finance and Business student communities on the Faculty Council, where I act as a liaison between students and faculty leadership. In this role, I review and analyze council agendas, gather input from my peers, and strategically advocate for initiatives that enhance the academic and professional development of Finance and Business students.In addition, I serve as a Campus Ambassador, connecting students with industry opportunities, promoting professional development initiatives, and building relationships between the university and key organizations.I am working toward my CPA designation and am committed to applying my skills and experiences to make a meaningful impact in accounting and finance. I enjoy collaborating with others, tackling complex challenges, and continuously learning while seeking opportunities to grow and contribute in meaningful ways.
