ABOUT ANIRUDDHA DATTA

Aniruddha Datta received the B. Tech degree in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur in 1985, the M.S.E.E. degree from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale in 1987 and the M.S.(Applied Mathematics) and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Southern California in 1991. In August 1991, he joined the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Texas A&M University where he is currently the J. W. Runyon, Jr. ’35 Professor II. His areas of interest include adaptive control, robust control, PID control and Genomic Signal Processing. He has authored or coauthored 5 books and over 200 journal and conference papers on these topics. He is a Fellow of has served as an Associate Editor of the Transactions on Automatic Control (20••••03), the Transactions on Systems, Man and Cybernetics-Part B (20••••06), the Transactions on Biomedical Engineering (20••••15), the EURASIP Journal on Bioinformatics and Systems Biology (20••••17), the Transactions on Computational Biology and Bioinformatics (20••••17), the Journal of Biomedical and Health Informatics (20••••16), Access (20••••22) and is currently serving as an Academic Editor for PLOS One. His current research interests are focused at the interface of engineering and the life sciences, specifically applications in cancer therapy and agriculture. He has developed and taught courses in these new areas and used them to successfully train students for careers in academia and industry. In addition, he regularly continues to teach both introductory undergraduate and advanced graduate level courses in the Control Systems area.
