Analysis to support strategic recommendations on future market reforms to deliver REMA, Carbon Budget 6 and net zero-Economic and commercial analysis of current and potential future electricity markets – assessing their effectiveness with respect to whole system costs, system security, and fairness-Working with stakeholders across DESNZ, BEIS, Ofgem and wider industry to understand the implications of different market designs.Key Areas of focus involves all things Contract for Difference (CfD) and researching any alternatives or tweaks, forward planning: Security of Supply (Capacity Market design and alternatives); researching and analysing market distortions; engaging with generators/developers and investment parties (such as banks) to better understand investment processes, to aid form resilient and robust policy frameworks.
