ABOUT TORTOR SMITH
Tortor is a talented multi-craft writer and director. Last year they were selected as one of 13 people to make a short film at Aardman. Their film, Hot Mess, is a 3-minute stop motion animation. and their first ever completed short film. They wrote, directed, animated and did everything else on this film too; with guidance from industry mentors. The film explores their experience with ADHD and the grief that comes with that - it has won five awards, been nominated for 12 and selected at 26 festivals so far. Tortor has previously worked in TV Development and has helped get several shows commissioned within ITV as a junior team member. They have also won countless pitches with brands such as Sony Pictures, Public Health England, HP, Post Office, Lenovo, SYFY, and Le Meridien delivering high-quality and original animations and videos since 2015. They are a trained camera operator and video editor with experience covering events, interviewing celebrities and working at award ceremonies in London - most notably the British LGBT Awards. They also teach what they know online and have so far amassed a following of almost students on Skillshare and over 15,800 subscribers on YouTube.
