ABOUT ANIRUDH MATHUR

Anirudh is a Principal Consultant in PA Consulting’s Energy & Utilities practice with 8 years of experience in transaction modelling, due-diligence and growth strategy advisory across US, UK and Europe. Anirudh has experience working in the energy markets, retail markets and the regulated utility space. He specializes in power market design, CfDs, PPAs for renewable and thermal generators, stochastic dispatch modeling, wholesale and retail price forecasting, locational marginal pricing, weather year dynamics, tax equity transaction support, and M&A due-diligence.Anirudh advices clients in the private equity space, renewable asset developers, transmission operators, investment banks, independent power producers, pension funds and regulatory agencies on technology operations, energy policies, market dynamics, natural gas fundamentals and regulatory policies. He has advised clients on market policy and regulation as it relates to the energy and capacity renumeration and has deep knowledge and experience of electricity, gas, commodities, and natural resource markets in each of the geographies. He also routinely worked with power plant developers and investors to maximize the value of their portfolio by guiding them through the nuances in capacity mechanisms, deployment of new battery storage technology, power arbitrage, and co-locating/upgrading of brown and green field gas hybrid power projects to take advantage of excess interconnection rights across different jurisdictions.Anirudh is also a building electrification and decarbonization expert. He has advised gas and electric state-utilities on taking advantage of the IRA in the US and has knowledge about local rebates to aid the energy transition across jurisdictions. Prior to PA, he was a Thermal Engineer with experience in the HVAC consulting space where he has worked with developers of low-carbon emitting air conditioning and heat pump technologies. He has experience conducting energy, carbon and financial evaluations on thermal assets.
