ABOUT ANIMA MEHRAJ MEHRIN
Software Engineering Co-op student at the University of Ottawa with experience in backend development, cloud systems, and data-driven applications.I’ve worked as a Software Developer Intern at a HealthTech, building cloud-based recommendation systems on AWS (EC2, S3, Amazon Personalize) and integrating them with Node.js backends, Flutter applications, and PostgreSQL databases. I also developed a custom Python-based recommendation engine using pandas and NumPy as an alternative to managed cloud services.My experience includes backend and API development, database integration, and mobile application support, including work on a virtual eye-test platform. I’m currently an Undergraduate Research Assistant working on medical image segmentation (PyTorch, U-Net) and will be joining the Triple I Lab at the University of Ottawa as a Research Intern in Summer 2026.Outside of technical work, I serve as Director of Logistics for uOttaHack, leading operations for participants and 50+ sponsors.
