Plan, implement and deliver the quarterly, monthly, weekly, and daily deliverables for the department against agreed objectives. • Hold regular effective team meetings, fostering employee engagement and the forum for continuous improvement. • Oversee contract review process and ensure all new jobs are booked in accurately and in a timely manner. • Work with the marketing and sales team to increase our client base as appropriate. • Work with technical directors, and managers to ensure a high level of response to customer needs is achieved. • Ensure only competent and approved staff are carrying out tests and authorizing/ interpreting test reports. • Considering risk and opportunities associated with laboratory activities, identifying areas for improvement and implementing any necessary actions. • Ensure the accurate monitoring of equipment (maintenance/calibration) is always in line with agreed procedures. • Adopt safe working practices in line with company procedures and to undertake appropriate training in Health and Safety. • Responsible for sub-contracting any metallurgical and corrosion testing requirements.
