Air! Human beings can live without food for three weeks, without water for three days but without air just for three minutes. That shows how important Air is to our life vis a vis food and water. People are spending thousands of Rupees on Organic food, free from Poisonous Pesticides and Chemical Fertilisers. Every home has a water purifier. But its a tragedy that most of us do not care for the quality of Air our family members breathe. Every day Eighty (80) persons are dying in DELHI due to High Pollution in the city. The Small more dangerous particulate matter PM2.5 enters our lungs with one way ticket. Once inside lungs, it penetrates deep into Alveoli of our Lungs and will remain there till our death. No medicine/ procedure will ever pull it out. The result is heavy health loss, from minor Bronchitis, Bronchial Asthma to Lung Cancer & other types of cancers, Heart Attacks, Stroke, decreased level of Fertility, Low Counts & weak Sperms, low ovulation rate with weak ovums, Memory weakness, decrease in IQ, irritability, anxiety, depression.Previously persons of 60 years or 70 years used to die of Heart Attacks & Strokes, now persons in the age group of 30s and 40s are dying. Imagine a child of 5 years who needs to have healthy lung, healthy body for next 70 years slowly but steadily loosing all dimensions of health. Recent survey in Delhi has revealed that the Lung function of 43% of our children is below normal. Their Lungs have already been permanently damaged beyond repair and they will suffer for the rest of their life. This is the worst form of cruelity by society. We must work passionately for decrease in pollution levels. At least our indoor Air Quality we must improve, by using High Quality Air Purifiers and we must N99 masks when we go outdoors. Use vacuum Cleaning of our homes instead of traditional Jhaadoo.
