About Aniket Shah
Selected candidate in Northwestern University’s Executive Management for Design and Construction (EMDC) program, focused on advancing leadership, business strategy, and innovation within the built environment. The program emphasizes executive decision-making, project delivery, and scaling organizations across the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry. I am a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with a multidisciplinary background spanning electrical engineering, project management, and sustainable design. Over the past decade, I have delivered power distribution and electrical system designs for hospitality, commercial, and defense projects, including hotels and high-security Department of Defense facilities. Certified as a PE, PMP, RCDD, and LEED AP BD+C, I bring a holistic perspective that combines technical rigor, sustainable design practices, and collaborative leadership. My experience includes transformer sizing, switchgear design, grounding and lightning protection, and lighting/photometric analysis, with close coordination across architectural, structural, and mechanical disciplines. My long-term goal is to lead at the intersection of design excellence, operational efficiency, and sustainable growth, guiding multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-impact, forward-looking solutions.
Experience
Electrical Engineer
Oct 2023 — Present · US
As an electrical engineer, my role has expanded from primarily supporting projects to independently leading the design and coordination of both hotel developments and military facility additions/renovations. I now take ownership of the full electrical design process—from concept through construction documents—ensuring that systems are not only code-compliant and reliable but also optimized for efficiency and long-term performance. For hotel projects, I independently develop electrical infrastructure layouts and single-line diagrams, working directly with architects and engineers to integrate power, lighting, and low-voltage systems seamlessly into the building design. On military projects, I have moved beyond assisting with assessments to conducting full system evaluations and providing design solutions that ensure new additions and renovations are compatible with existing infrastructure. This includes calculating loads, determining required upgrades, and designing solutions that align with UFC, NEC, and other military standards. I also coordinate directly with contractors, utilities, and multiple disciplines to resolve conflicts and ensure constructability.Through this growth, I have become increasingly proactive—anticipating challenges, developing solutions with minimal oversight, and ensuring designs are both technically sound and cost-effective. My work now reflects a higher level of independence and accountability, contributing directly to the successful delivery of government and private-sector projects.
