About Anik Chatterjee
Anik Chatterjee, M.Sc (Statistics) is working at Merck KGaA Darmstadt and is serving as Head of Statistical Programming Team in India. In his present role he is responsible for providing technical scientific leadership along with organizational and operational leadership aligned and integrated with Clinical Measurement Science and Data Science global visions. Anik is mainly responsible to build the Statistical Programming team, Data Science(Data Engineers, Systems & Automation) in India by recruiting and retaining talents locally, coaching and developing associates to enable them to provide the highest levels of scientific and technical capabilities. Anik is aimed at establishing a group founded on innovation, high performance, and trust.Anik worked at Novartis for 16 years, leading the Statistical Programming Team across multiple sites including India, Kuala Lumpur, Prague, and Mexico. He was responsible for the quality, productivity, and delivery of Statistical Programming activities. Before this, Anik was part of the Real World Evidence Analytics (RWE) programming team, gaining experience with real-world data on a Big Data platform using Apache Cloudera. He also collaborated with the Global Leadership Team to expand the Data Science group in India. Earlier, Anik served as a Global Project Programmer and Team Lead for new drug development projects, working closely with Biometricians and Statisticians. His responsibilities included clinical trial analysis, safety monitoring, and regulatory submissions. Additionally, Anik has about 2 years of experience teaching Statistics at the graduation level as a part-time lecturer.Anik holds BS and MS in Statistics from Calcutta University and Burdwan University respectively in India. He also participated and presented in a few national and international Seminars on SAS programming and clinical trials.
