About Anthony Nguyen
Anthony T. Nguyen, MD, PhD, is an Assistant Professor of Radiation Oncology and Biomedical Sciences at the Cedars-Sinai Cancer Institute. He completed his MD-PhD at Harvard Medical School in the Harvard-MIT Health Sciences and Technology Program. Dr. Nguyen completed his training in radiation oncology at Cedars-Sinai where he served as Chief Resident and a B. Leonard Holman Research Fellow. Dr. Nguyen is a board-certified radiation oncologist who specializes in the treatment of genitourinary cancers, spine and metastatic cancers, gastrointestinal cancers, and breast cancer. In addition to his clinical practice, he is a physician scientist working at the interface between tumor immunology and cancer biology. As a Core Member of the Cancer Biology Program, Dr. Nguyen is actively engaged in basic and translational research to elucidate novel pathways of reprogramming the immune microenvironment of solid cancers. He is the author of numerous peer reviewed publications, with articles appearing in journals such as Science, JAMA Oncology, Lancet Oncology, JAMA Surgery, Cell Reports, the Journal of the National Cancer Institute, Cancer, and the International Journal of Radiation Oncology, Biology and Physics. Dr. Nguyen’s research has been funded by the NIH, Conquer Cancer/American Society for Clinical Oncology (ASCO), Tower Cancer Research Foundation, the Clinical and Translational Science Institute at UCLA and Cedars-Sinai, and the Cedars-Sinai Accelerator Program. His research program seeks to leverage multi-disciplinary approaches in single-cell RNA sequencing, spatial transcriptomics, mass spectrometry, and molecular and cell biology to overcome innate immune resistance to immunotherapy and radiotherapy in solid tumors.
