ABOUT ANGIE CASTRO

With over 10 years of experience in the field of mental health nursing, I am passionate about providing quality care and support to patients and families who are facing mental health challenges. I am a board member of Mindsite, a nonprofit organization that aims to increase accessibility to mental health services for children, adolescents, and adults. As a board member, I contribute to the strategic direction, governance, and fundraising of the organization, and share my insights and knowledge from my clinical practice and education. I am also a registered nurse at AdventHealth, where I provide psychiatric care and education to patients in a hospital setting. I am committed to advancing the mental health profession and advocating for the rights and needs of the people I serve.Prior to joining AdventHealth, I was a psychiatric services manager at Mindful Behavioral Healthcare, a holistic private health practice in Kissimmee, Florida. There, I oversaw the daily operations of the psychiatric department, managed a team of nurses and medical assistants, and coordinated with other providers and staff to ensure optimal patient care and satisfaction. I also performed psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and Trans-cranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) treatment for patients with various mental health conditions. I have developed skills in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, and teamwork. I am fluent in Spanish, and I enjoy learning new things and helping others.
