Provide high-end technical support to academic departments.Collaborate with the CIO and other ITS managers on strategic planning for technology services, and represent ITS to other organizations, both internally and externally.Manage campus information technology capital budget. Negotiate acquisition and contractual agreements for products and services within the purview of Networks & Systems.Committee assignments: Information Security Committee, Campus Strategic Planning Committee, and Planning Assessment and Resource Committee.Major projects I directly managed, designed, and implemented: Acting CISO, Technical lead and Co-PI in obtaining and implementing NSF Grant for a ScienceDMZ, Campus wide network migration from Cisco to Juniper, VDI implementation utilizing VMware VSAN and Horizon View for public labs, remote access, and virtualized applications, High Performance Computing Cluster design and build, Palo Alto next generation firewall migration, Campus wide 800+ Ruckus AP wireless implementation to cover dormitories, academic buildings and outdoor campus, Campus BGP implementation, Technical lead on two web site re-designs, Brought on-line multiple new buildings and oversaw/designed network in many major building renovations, Migrated campus email from Exchange to Google Workspace, Implemented campus wide email digest system, Legacy PBX migration to VOIP, Architected storage platform for campus security video footage.
