Angelo M. Filippi, Partner, serves as Director of the firm\'s Employment and Labor Law Department, representing clients on a broad range of matters applicable to the workplace. He defends clients before local, state and federal enforcement agencies and has extensive experience litigating both individual and class action claims. Angelo has defended employers in litigation initiated under all state and federal employment discrimination laws, the Fair Labor Standards Act, OSHA, Whistleblower Claims, the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), trade secret, non-compete and non-solicitation issues, employment contract claims and ERISA compliance.Angelo also lectures and trains employers, management groups and human resource professionals on various topics including, federal discrimination laws, the administrative process at federal, state and local agencies and the overlap of the ADA, FMLA and Workers\' Compensation Law.Angelo received his bachelor’s degree from New York University and his law degree from St. John’s School of Law. He was appointed by the Broward County Commission to serve on its Human Relations Board, and is a contributing member for the Daily Business Review. He previously served as a Committee Chair for HRABC and the Employment Law Section of the Florida Bar. Prior to entering private practice, Angelo was responsible for the EEOC’s litigation program in Florida as Regional Counsel.
