Q: Let’s do this in a Q&A formatA: Of course, let’s go. Q: Who are you?A: I\'m an enthusiastic and committed Technical Lead working in the RESP team across North West. Before, I was working as a Strategic Insight Lead at the Future Energy Scenarios team in NESO. Prior to this, I was a Lead Research Engineer, working at the R&D Centre of EDF Energy UK. Before that, I was a modelling Analyst at Energy Systems Catapult, working as part of their innovation team. I also hold a PhD in battery storage, which was completed at The University of Manchester (UoM). You can find more details about myself, my publications, presentations and awards at my personal website here: https://angelikilk.github.io.Q: What are you currently working on and what have you done in the past?A: I am currently looking at policy frameworks, short- and long-term projections of generation, demand and flexibility in the GB system. Prior to this, I was looking at co-location of battery storage with renewable generation, and all aspects of long-duration energy storage. Before that, I was working with Innovate UK to investigate the business case of second life batteries as well as different options for bulk electricity storage in future power networks. Other areas of research include long-term forecasting of future electricity prices, constructing dynamic time-of-use profiles for commercial customers, and investigating (with receding horizon model predictive control) the quantification and optimisation of multiple revenue streams from batteries installed in commercial sites. Q: What about modelling?A: I am currently helping the team inform the RESP pathways and before I worked in PLEXOS for power system optimisation. I use Python for data manipulation, visualisation and statistical analysis. For version control, I use Git. Previously, I have also used Matlab and Simulink for various projects. During my PhD studies, I was using dynamic programming techniques and parallel programming, implemented in C++ and Linux.Q: Tell me about yourselfA: I have a resilient attitude and I like to educate myself constantly. I like to stay on top of new trends. I also read about leadership and decision making for my personal improvement. I welcome challenges and I adapt to change quickly.
