ABOUT ANGELENE BALDI
Angelene directs and manages a team of medical planners and architects who research, benchmark and develop the best practices for planning and design guidelines for the KP Enterprise Facilities Design Program. Angelene and her team work closely with internal and external stakeholders including physicians, clinicians, nurses, therapists, and facilities operations, to develop and update the planning and design tools and partner with the Service Delivery Teams to implement them into our buildings. Under her leadership, the team has developed the reputation of being one of the most innovative and skilled medical planning groups in the nation. She is regularly consulted by colleagues and medical centers worldwide. She has been invited by leading universities to teach medical planning to their students. She works closely with Executive Leadership and Delivery System Strategy who oversee project development, planning and design of Kaiser Permanente facilities. She provides design oversight of all projects in the NCAL, Colorado, Northwest, and Washington regions. She has been with Kaiser Permanente since 2005: Her latest achievements have been implementing the Next Generation of the New Hospital Standards and the Ambulatory Care Environments across the enterprise. She also spearheaded the development and implementation of the single bedded NICU concept to create a more developmental and family centered environment for our tiniest patients. This design is now built out in 12 facilities. In the outpatient setting, she created the Micro Clinic and Mobile Health Vehicle guidelines which enable members to access KP in less populated areas. She has over 30 years of healthcare planning, design, and construction experience: Prior to joining Kaiser she was in private practice working as a healthcare architect. This experience enables her to be an effective translator for our clinicians to make sure that KP provides optimized facilities to deliver the highest level of care. She attended the University of California at Berkeley: and obtained a BA in Architecture with a minor in City and Regional Planning. She is a licensed architect in California. She is accredited in Evidence-Based Design Accreditation and Certification (EDAC). She is also a voting member of the Health Guidelines Review Committee (HGRC) for the Facilities Guidelines Institute (FGI) to promote and establish guidelines to advance the quality of healthcare.
