ABOUT ANGELA MORITSUGU
I graduated from film school back in 2012 - after working as a filmmaker for a few years, I realized that my passion is spreading my love for and knowledge of cinema, arts, and culture. I still enjoy the creative process, and I\'m focusing on using my skills for arts education and programming, at cultural institutions, non-profits, and film festivals.I have over fifteen years of experience working in the screen industry. I started on the sets of short films, music videos, and web series, and progressed to documentaries, stop motion animation, television shows, and feature films. I have experience designing wardrobe, screenwriting, producing, directing, and editing film and video, as well as working across the art department in various roles. I have also explored 2D digital animation. I really enjoy the artistic and collaborative process of filmmaking and content production. My goal is to take my lived experiences as a queer, disabled filmmaker and woman of colour, and use that knowledge to help launch and further the careers of creators from underrepresented communities, in the hopes of building a more diverse, equitable, inclusive, and accessible screen industry going forward. In addition, I have twenty years of experience in arts education. I love working with children, and particularly enjoyed teaching filmmaking basics, cultural history, and visual arts. I\'ve also guest instructed at several post-secondary institutions, on film and video topics. My studies in visual arts and history have expanded my appreciation for culture in all its forms. Pottery is my newest artistic passion!
