ABOUT ANGELA ROBERTS

Having specialised in Forensic Accounting at Grant Thornton for over ten years, my current role involves investigating fraud, money-laundering, accounting irregularities and whistle-blower allegations. Much of my work involves complex offshore trust structures and asset tracing across large quantities of financial information. I carry out detailed bank statement analysis and funds flow tracing exercises, writing reports for either expert witness or advisory purposes. My recent work involves extensive collaboration with colleagues in Financial Crime, Insolvency & Asset Recovery and member firms in the Grant Thornton International network.Prior to specialising in Investigations, I undertook wider Forensic Accounting work including contractual disputes, warranty disputes and shareholder disputes with an accountancy or quantum angle, and business valuations in the context of matrimonial disputes and compulsory purchase orders. I have also undertaken a six month secondment to our Business Risk Services team in which I was based on-site at a major public sector body as part of their Internal Audit function undertaking governance reviews.
