ABOUT ANGELA JOHNSON

Education, access, policy, and cultural responsiveness are integral to achieving optimal health outcomes. As a seasoned public health professional, I am driven by the urgent need for comprehensive sexual and reproductive health education, inclusive policies at all levels of government, fostering community engagement and equitable access to healthcare, and ending the HIV epidemic.For over a decade, I have honed my expertise in HIV prevention and sexual health. My experience extends:* from grassroots approaches to directing federal grants,* from one-on-one counseling with college students to leading national webinars on ending the HIV epidemic, and * from working in the Southern United States to the capital of Zambia. I am inspired to witness the evolution of HIV prevention and treatment strategies to a point where ending the HIV epidemic is finally within reach.As a Black woman raised in the South, I am keenly aware of how HIV prevention and treatment are linked to other health equity issues, including reproductive justice and maternal health. I utilize my national HIV platform to integrate these topics, particularly as it pertains to the health of Black women and birthing people.I am known for being an energetic leader who enjoys training and facilitation, encouraging professional development opportunities for my team, and serving as a mentor.
