About Angela Thomatis

I have always had a passion for helping others. As a Physical Therapist Assistant, I am lucky to have a variety of experiences that fueled my passion and have helped me develop a unique set of skills.As a health care provider, I have worked as a PTA in ambulatory/OP and skilled nursing facilities. I have also worked in home health providing physical therapy care to homebound patients. Each setting provided unique experiences to treat a variety of diagnoses and patient populations under the direction of the Supervising PT. I understand my role as a PTA and I truly enjoy providing patient care. It is a privilege to work closely with patients and help them function at their highest capability. My journey as a PTA provided me with the opportunity to work in PTA education. I have served as a PTA Instructor and as the Director of Clinical Education. As a PTA Instructor, I taught various PTA courses including Intro to PT, PTA Techniques, Therapeutic Exercise I and II, Rehabilitation I and II and Administrative Procedures. I have created lesson plans, designed and presented educational training tools and worked closely with students to promote their educational success. I also served as a liaison to the Student Physical Therapist Assistant Committee to elect leadership roles in each student cohort and assist students in establishing/developing community service activities for the PTA program and student body. I consider myself lucky to have assisted numerous students on their journey to become Physical Therapist Assistants.As the Director of Clinical Education in a PTA vocational training program, I established professional relationships with clinical sites to promote quality learning opportunities and clinical experiences while ensuring students were progressing appropriately toward entry-level PTA performance. In addition to teaching assigned courses, I maintained and established all clinical affiliation agreements with clinical sites, planned and coordinated the clinical education practicums and maintained open and timely communication to identify and solve academic and non academic challenges.
