About Angela Smith
With a PhD and master\'s degree in counseling, teaching experience that spans undergraduate and graduate programs as well as public high school, program and organization creation experience, and leadership experience in state and national counseling associations, I bring empathy, advocacy, innovation, and commitment to the table. My volunteer work for the non-profit I co-founded, PRISM WNC, blends community building, advocacy, education, and empowering emerging leaders to step forward to support our LGBTQIA+ community. I want people to find their place in the world and aim to help them when I can by connecting them to others I know. My cheerleading days didn’t end with my high school and college teams because I am passionate about cheering on and lifting up the people in my life on their way to also change the world and influence positive change. We rise faster when we lift each other up.
