ABOUT ANGELA SAWH
Latest work: 1. Now that I have finished my BSc, I am available for research work. My first position is as a Research Assistant with the University of Calgary. This is in support of a Masters project, studying River bank soils to understand carbon levels as they evolved over time. My role in this is to help collect soil samples and the tasks I participate in are: 1. Transport and set-up RTK survey equipment 2. Document survey GIS readings 3. Support in scouting the area for best location for digging 4. Assist in digging selected site location 5. Assess soil for strata variations 6. Document strata labels per site 7. Cap and Label soil samples 8. Follow safety precautions (wear a PFD, knee waders) and standard health practices (ensure carrying water and food for the day) I am excited to gain this experience and look forward to other opportunities for research. In response to the Pandemic, I have been working on contract with the Canadian Red Cross as a Virtual Operations Team Manager since April of 2020. This role is to provide supports to operations that are establishing virtual teams. Working in a virtual world requires established systems, procedures and policies that ensure services we normally provide face-to-face are possible in a virtual manner. This is the work I am primarily focusing on in this contract.
