Strategic Advisor and Crisis Manager for the Department of Neighborhoods. I am responsible for managing community outreach and engagement with various constituents for the City of Seattle, in accordance with its anti-racist agenda. Currently, I am working exclusively with Seattle Public Utilities in the Corporate Policy Division, advising and strategizing around aligning Outreach, Education and Engagement throughout the utility, in addition to other duties.I created an ongoing relationship building/conversational opportunity for Black, Indigenous and People of Color to have access to city department directors. This allowed for immediate accountability, as department directors heard from community in real time. The outcome: community members asked me to help navigate city processes. I provided access when none was possible and got results.I have loaned out my communication skills across other departments to: assist in awarding money to small businesses in need of help during the COVID-19 pandemic; assist in creating vaccination opportunities for BIPOC communities; identify organizations to assist in creating opportunities for Seattleites to have access to vouchers which serve as money they can give to local candidates; to assist the Office of Labor Standards in identifying organizations in the BIPOC communities to assist small businesses in understanding Seattle Labor Standards.Additionally, I have represented the Department of Neighborhoods by serving as a member of the city\'s Special Events Committee. As a committee member, this position allowed me to interact with the entire city, with a keen interest in elevating the voice of the BIPOC communities. I serve as a strategist and point person for the Community Involvement Commission-a Commission represented by community members from each Council district, as well as City at-large positions. I handle vacancies, expirations, confirmations-making sure the Commission is legally operating.
