About Angela Maggio
In my role, I support data maturity across the enterprise and enable rapid business decision making by treating data as an enterprise asset. I am trained in biomedical research, bioinformatics, and large scale data pipelining. I have spent my career leading technical teams in delivery following agile SDLC best practices. I currently lead a team of data engineers at Vertex Pharmaceuticals implementing data solutions across all business units resulting in the release of dozens of trustworthy, documented, accessible, and reusable enterprise data assets per year. My data handling, processing, analysis and data science expertise spans multi omics research data, other molecular biology assay data, medical imaging, real world data, third-party/marketplace big data and systems based sources such as enterprise resource planning systems and data models, lab information management systems, manufacturing execution systems, and workplace management systems to name a few. I am knowledgable in key data use cases across the pharmaceutical product lifecycle including research, development, regulatory, quality, manufacturing, supply chain, commercial, and administrative domains.
