ABOUT ANGELA LEWIS

I hold an Associate in Risk Management (ARM) certification, which demonstrates my knowledge and expertise in risk assessment and mitigation. I am currently pursuing a Bachelor\'s in Occupational Health and Safety with a a concentration in Fire Science to further enhance my risk focused approach to workers’ compensation and firefighter injury prevention. In my current role at a self insured special district fire department, I collaborate cross-functionally with many divisions, as well as labor representatives, and board members to develop and implement innovative, cost-effective strategies for prompt and appropriate care of our first responders. Previously, I worked with clients to analyze and improve their workers\' compensation program performance, using data-driven insights and best practices. Prior to my employer and account management roles, I was a Workers\' Compensation Team Lead, where I supervised and coached a team of examiners, managed complex claims, and resolved escalated issues. I have strong analytical and communication skills, which enable me to identify and address the needs and expectations of different audiences, such as clients, claimants, attorneys, and medical providers. I am passionate about helping clients achieve their goals and reduce their risks, while also supporting and empowering my team members. I am always eager to learn new skills and explore new opportunities in the field of risk management.
