ABOUT ANGELA GONZALEZ
I am a bilingual professional with over 15 years of experience implementing programs that empower vulnerable populations in the DC area. My recent experience includes working at the Latin American Youth Center where i implemented positive youth development programs and trainings addressing complex needs of youth and families in areas such as housing, recreation, sexual health, financial literacy, and mental health. Previously, I led the implementation of field research studies aimed at improving financial access and resources for Latino immigrants in DC. I also have over 20 years of experience in Spanish translation and interpretation. Before joining the Office of Human Rights as a Training Specialist, I served as Language Access Monitor at the Mayor’s Office on Latino Affairs where I provided technical assistance to DC government agencies covered by the Language Access Act to optimize services when engaging with the Latino community. My academic background includes a master’s degree in international development with a concentration in community development from American University and a law degree from Central American University (UCA) in El Salvador.
