ABOUT ANGELA GREEN
Working with retail industry innovators and leaders, Express and DSW, I possess a depth and breadth of expertise spanning allocation, merchandise, and store planning. In addition, at the foundation of my journey, I managed buying with Elder Beerman, providing for the well-rounded background I use today to understand the unique needs of my cross-functional colleagues. Joining Express in the late ‘90s, I managed allocation for Denim and Shorts before moving into store planning and deepening my analytical skills to develop optimal assortments during the brand’s peak in popularity. With the transformation of the former Structure entity into Express Men\'s, I managed seasonal merchandise plans for Denim, which then generated $71M in revenue. In my last full year with the company, I delivered a 33% increase in sales volume and the highest MMU rate in 5 years. Joining DSW in 2003, I first developed Men\'s Footwear plans for 226 DSW and 27 Filene\'s Basement stores as a Sr. Store Planner. Ensuring market-aligned decision-making, I structured seasonal plans, forecasted sales and flows, and worked with the allocation team to navigate fluctuations and adjust rapidly. With the brand growing exponentially during my 4 years in the role, DSW store count doubled as we closed our sister company locations and focused on the DSW concept. Since 2007, while I have served under the Allocation & Store Planning Manager title, my role has changed significantly throughout my tenure. Leading categories generating up to $1.3B in revenue, managing teams of 10+, and planning for a footprint of almost 500 locations, I have been a part of DSW’s incredibly successful evolution and continued transformation. Now leading the highest velocity categories in the company with the #1 unit volume, I am charged with managing the most complex and choice-count-intensive merchandise. In addition, I serve as the lead for new store launches, ensuring optimal allocation and brand assortment while continuing to balance the rigors of my categories. As a leader on the team, I have also championed numerous ‘firsts’ including implementation of a Sock Wall that grew category sales 171% in 12 months, development of groundbreaking allocation and merchandiser training programs, creation of new models to improve allocation processes and visibility, and support and testing of the ‘Warehouse Reimagined’ shop-in-a-shop concept.
