Experience
Senior Vice President, Community Development Manager Iii
Jul 2008 — Present · Knoxville, TN, US
SUMMARY• Directs community development strategies across 16 MSAs in 3 states. • Deploys over $1.3M annually for LMI and CDFI initiatives. • Allocates $400K+ yearly in innovative community development grants. • Consistently achieves 100% of service goals and achieves CRA metrics. At Truist Financial, my role as Community Development Manager and Senior Vice President is focused on spearheading comprehensive strategies that drive impactful initiatives in affordable housing, small business capital access, and financial empowerment across 16 Metropolitan Statistical Areas in three states. By developing and implementing go-to-market strategies that incorporate HUD plans, economic development initiatives, and SWOT analyses, I ensure Truist\'s resources align with both internal objectives and community-specific requirements, consistently achieving 100% of service goals and exceeding CRA metrics.A key aspect of my role involves structuring complex financial solutions for affordable housing and economic development projects, leveraging New Markets Tax Credits, Low-Income Housing Tax Credits, and Federal Home Loan Bank Affordable Housing Program funding. This work, combined with the allocation of over $1.3M in funding and $400K+ annually in innovative grants, I work to support low-to-moderate-income (LMI) initiatives, community development financial institutions (CDFIs), and programs focused on small business access to capital and workforce development. To maximize community impact and ensure alignment with Truist\'s purpose-driven initiatives, I foster cross-functional collaboration between Commercial Banking, Truist Foundation, and Corporate Social Responsibility teams. This approach extends to partnerships with local advisory councils, government agencies, and diverse community organizations, resulting in innovative public-private partnerships that address critical needs such as affordable housing and small business development in underserved communities.
