WORK HISTORY
Chief Information Officer @Congressional Budget Office
Washington, DC, US
As the CIO, I lead a team of 15 IT professionals and am responsible for CBOs IT budget development, budget execution, and the day-to-day IT operations including service desk operations, IT asset management, network engineering, systems engineering, application development, IT Security, purchasing. Since joining CBO, I created a multiyear IT Strategic plan that is aligned with the overall agency strategic plan and am in year 2 of plan execution. There were 69 initial IT strategic plan projects created but there are 123 projects created to date with 58 completed within the first 2 years. I initiated quarterly project reviews with team leads to monitor and track project progress. In Q4 of FY22, I initiated an inventory of all IT assets. As a result of the physical inventory and verification processes created, notable differences in the outdated asset management policy were documented, IT procedures and asset records were updated along with updates to the asset management application. In January 2023, I implemented quarterly random inventory asset audits to continuously improve data quality in the asset management database. Standard operating procedures were created for various asset management tasks to document and improve asset management operations as part of the overall asset management program. In support of IT Security, I created a template and naming convention for policies, creating 12 initial policies in preparation for annual reporting updates and led the initial development of IT Security policies as part of cybersecurity annual assessment requirements.
