ABOUT ANGELA BLANTON

Angela Blanton is an accomplished finance executive with a proven track record of driving financial sustainability, strategic vision, and operational excellence across higher education, financial services, and manufacturing sectors. Currently serving as Vice President and CFO of Carnegie Mellon University (CMU), Angela oversees a $1.7 billion annual budget, enhancing financial performance, liquidity, and cash management while advancing the university’s academic and research mission. Under her leadership, CMU achieved its highest S&P credit rating in decades, reflecting strong fiscal management and strategic foresight.Angela is known for her ability to build trust with leadership, the Board of Trustees, and key stakeholders, improving data-driven decision-making, leading digital transformation initiatives and introducing innovative revenue-generating programs. Previously, as VP and CFO for PNC Investments, Angela oversaw $300 million in brokerage assets, led key integrations for National City, Royal Bank of Canada, and Flagstar Bank, and collaborated with C-suite leadership to set long-term strategic goals. Her earlier experience includes leadership roles in finance and engineering at PPG Industries, Chrysler Corporation, and Delphi Corporation.Angela serves as an Independent Board Member and Audit Committee Member for GCM Grosvenor, Inc.(Nasdaq: GCMG), as a SEC Qualified Financial Expert, and Board Chair for Code for America, where she contributes to advancing digital solutions that improve government services. She previously served on the National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO) board, helping shape national higher education financial strategies.Recognized as a Pittsburgh Business Times C-Suite Award Winner and a New Pittsburgh Courier Woman of Excellence, Angela remains deeply committed to community and economic development. She serves on the Thought Leadership Committee for Pittsburgh’s Allegheny Conference on Community Development, was Chair of the Board of Trustees for the Pittsburgh Public Theater, and continues to support regional and national organizations through leadership and advocacy. Angela is also a member of the CNBC CFO Council to stay abreast of trends and to strengthen relationships with CFO’s across various industries.Angela holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan and a Master of Science in Industrial Administration (MSIA/MBA) from Carnegie Mellon University.
