Person in charged of purchasing supplies and materials at the optimal price and delivery cycle while maintaining lowest possible inventory levels. Participating in activities such as:*Analyzing, understanding, and converting MRP messages to raw material purchase orders and plans to meet production/forecast demand.*Maintaining purchase part inventory by verifying quantities, understanding production schedule and technical/part requirements.*Maintaining item master integrity by updating supplier lead times, verification of safety stock levels, EOQ’s, etc.*Supporting purchasing activities including data gathering, preparing quote/proposal packages (RFQ/RFP), evaluating quotes, making supplier recommendations, analyzing and executing contracts.*Purchasing supplies, materials, and office supplies/equipment by preparing and submitting purchase orders following department procedures and limits of authority.*On-time delivery of parts, supplies and materials by expediting or deferring orders as required based on schedule and inventory changes. Utilize move in and move out reports to trigger action.*Recommending and establishing optimal inventory levels based on material/supplier lead times, production demand and market conditions.*Managing material flows throughout production/BOM changes, obsolescence, and the introduction of new suppliers and/or materials due to new product development or ECO changes.*Building and maintaining strong working relationships with stakeholders while supporting office and production needs.*Communicating purchase price variance proactively.*Maintaining department workflow by filling in for other positions as needed.*Assisting with cycle counting and yearly physical inventory.*Coordinating supplier meetings to resolve quality, lead time or delivery issues.*Managing Inbound freight costs & programs, and Importer of record responsibilities.*Verifying and invoicing approval for Accounts Payable.*All other duties as assigned.
