I build and lead platform engineering organizations that ship: the control planes, IAM systems, developer frameworks, and deployment tooling that other engineering teams depend on to move fast and stay secure. Over 15 years I\'ve grown from writing enterprise Java and building CI/CD pipelines to leading organizations of 35+ engineers across the US, India, and Costa Rica. My work consistently sits at the intersection of platform engineering, cloud security, and developer experience, and I\'ve found that the best platforms serve all three at once. At BD, I inherited a team that had spent three years in development without a single production deployment. Within four months we had our first deployment. The platform now serves 100+ engineers across the enterprise. Before BD, I led a 30-person global security engineering team at Splunk, growing from 6 engineers by building the case to absorb two additional teams. I reported directly to the CISO, delivered a cloud-agnostic SCP management system covering hundreds of policies across AWS, GCP, and Azure, and cut security policy delivery time by 50%. I\'m at my best when the problem is hard, the team is distributed, and the organization needs someone who can operate across the IC-to-C-suite range without losing credibility at either end. I care about developing engineers into leaders and translating complex technical work into decisions executives can act on.
