Since July, I have been working full-time as a Software Engineer Intern at Amadeus, as part of my placement.The role involves attending meetings and iteration reviews, while balancing workload.Work involves creating and improving projects for the DevOps team, assisted by other team members. Daily meetings are held with mentors, to update them on progress and to receive a list of requirements. Additionally, I often send an executable version of the application to my mentors and other team members, so they can test it and offer feedback.After a project is completed, I will present the application to the rest of the team.

ABOUT ANEEKA AHMAD
Being a motivated and resilient undergraduate studying Computer Science at Queen Mary University of London, I wish to expand my skillset and experiences while taking on new challenges.Having taken a gap year, I honed my programming skills, completing courses for C++, Java and JavaScript. I also gained practical experience working part-time in River Island as a Sales Advisor, which massively improved my communication, problem-solving and time-management skills. Additionally, I volunteered at a local charity shop, further enhancing my ability to work well in a team.While studying at Queen Mary\'s I have excelled in both individual and group settings, utilising communication and team work skills to deliver high-quality coursework. As well as this, I have refined my time-management and organisational skills when meeting tight deadlines.Currently, I work as a Demonstrator, having worked on Computer Systems and Networks, OOP and Web Technology modules. This involved assisting students with lab assignments, thoroughly explaining solutions, solving queries on the online forum, and marking work. These responsibilities have solidified my understanding of the modules, and enabled me to effectively explain concepts to other students.Driven with the desire to make technology more accessible to everyone, I am pursuing a placement year to apply and refine my skills, tackle more challenges and become a better Software Developer.
