ABOUT ANDY PARKER-BATES
My career to date has been working entirely in and around Industrial Automation, first as an Engineer, then a Programme Manager and latterly as a Marketer, Product Manager and Relationship Development Manager. The driver for me in all of these roles has been to provide advanced solutions to engineering problems using automation technologies.With a broad background covering electrical control engineering, electromechanical motion, pneumatics and hydraulics, I am well placed to bring an understanding of not only how automation technologies can help address the challenges faced by industry today, but also how it can provide a competitive edge for the future.I have recently been working in the Food Processing & Packaging, Life Sciences and Transportation markets but also have an interest and wealth of experience of automotive manufacturing, machine tools and robotics.I am currently working with a number of Festo\'s official distribution partners to identify opportunities for growth and to support the development of our partner\'s technical and commercial capabilities. I have an interest in the opportunities offered by Industry 4.0 and how manufacturing industries can gain from the adoption of new and emerging technologies.
