My passion for 3D design and visualization quickly expanded from building structures to shaping innovative products.As a lifelong \"student\" of Raymond Loewy and R. Buckminster Fuller, my product-market development combines innovative yet user-centric design, and sustainable, systems-driven solutions.Great products often fail because of ill-timing. Today, I think in \"4D\"— combining 3D product visualization with the ever-evolving dimensions of market trends, tech advancements, economic shifts, and timing.I’ve founded seven startups, some of which exited successfully, while others were closed or pivoted for better opportunities. My companies have weathered multiple recessions, and I’ve also invested in emerging ventures. Of course, some failed.For nearly five decades, I’ve focused on designing, funding, and building solutions that disrupt industries, create new markets, and challenge the status quo. My work spans a range of technologies, from the first LCD watch (National Semi) and 3-1/2\" floppy disk engineering (Memorex) to early inkjet printers (Systems Industries), high-density disk drive connectors (Seagate), VC-backed DotCom ventures - the first AI-driven patent search SaaS platform (PatentCafe), future health and fitness technologies, smart home innovations, and more. As an inventor with 40+ patents, I’ve been recognized among the World\'s Top 300 Intellectual Property Strategists, am a published author, board member, international speaker, and U.S. Secretary of Commerce appointed government advisor.What I’ve learned:1) Learning never stops.2) Technological advancements fuel disruptive products—success is about timing.3) Products and companies built on fast-evolving technologies must pivot to survive; 97% of startups don’t make it past year 10.And one more thing: frugal founders build resilient companies.I thrive on tackling complex challenges. Ecosystem-based startups are more intricate than product-focused ones, with higher failure rates in early stages due to funding and infrastructure needs. Yet those that persevere tend to outperform product-based businesses.While AI machines may become sentient one day, dogs already are. My current project is developing a groundbreaking dog-machine AI interface, creating an industry ecosystem that will redefine human-dog interactions.
